This project features a split-level hillside villa in St. Martin, a recent completion of ours. The client—a villa owner who frequently travels between Europe and St. Martin—outlined several key pain points during our initial consultation: excessively high electricity bills, an unstable power grid, concerns that the installation process might damage the roof, and a need to monitor power generation status remotely via a mobile app.
Solution Design
Based on these factors, our discussions focused on gathering specific details, including the roof structure, the type of existing electricity meter, average daily power consumption, and whether future electrical loads were anticipated.
Since the client is not frequently at home and the household electrical load is relatively low, we ultimately recommended an off-grid 5kW "all-in-one" solar system, paired with six solar panels and a combiner box. The available roof area proved more than sufficient to accommodate the six panels, and the site enjoys abundant sunlight exposure with no significant shading obstructions. Furthermore, the all-in-one solar unit is exceptionally easy to install, featuring built-in wheels that facilitate effortless positioning and mobility.

Proposal Presentation and Contract Signing
We presented the final solution to the client via video conference. During the presentation, we showcased the solar system's connection schematics, renderings of the roof-mounted panel layout, the interface for mobile data monitoring, warranty and after-sales service terms, as well as details regarding sea freight and customs clearance procedures. After a thorough discussion, the client expressed their full satisfaction and approval, subsequently arranging for the deposit payment.
Shipping and Logistics
Upon order confirmation, we arranged for the factory to manufacture and rigorously test the equipment, providing the client with video footage of the testing process and performance data. The equipment was packed in sturdy wooden crates lined with protective foam to minimize the risk of damage during transit. As St. Martin is an island territory, the equipment required advance shipment via sea freight and subsequent customs clearance; we worked closely with the client to coordinate all logistics details and guide them through the customs clearance procedures.
Installation and Commissioning
The installation process spanned two days. We established a temporary WhatsApp group—comprising the sales representative, engineers, the client, and the on-site project manager—to facilitate real-time communication. In preparation for the scheduled installation dates, we provided the client with a "Pre-Installation Checklist," instructional videos, and technical diagrams. Any questions or issues that arose during the process could be addressed immediately within the group chat or resolved via phone calls and video guidance. Upon completion of the installation, we handed over both hardcopy and digital versions of the project documentation, system operation guidelines, and details regarding our remote after-sales support procedures.
This solar energy project represents more than just the technical implementation of a solution; it serves as a replicable and scalable paradigm for green energy adoption in island environments. For homeowners who prioritize energy independence, eco-conscious living, and technological convenience, such a solar system is rapidly evolving from a mere "added bonus" into an absolute "necessity."
